Reinforced Steel Gooseneck
Web stiffener bars and 1/4"-thick halfmoon gussets on one side of the web, plus overlapping “wrap-around” flanges where the gooseneck meets the main beam, reinforce the transition area of the gooseneck for uncompromised strength in this critical area. Also included: 4-bolt, easy-access front panel, stake pockets, and flag holders.

Knee Braces and Steel Crossmembers
Knee braces are bolted on, not welded, reducing stress on the main beam and crossmembers. Crossmembers are on 12" centers in the main deck and 18" centers in the upper deck.

Air-Operated Control Valves
High quality air-operated valves are contained in a conveniently located, protective sealed box, and control the slider axle brakes/locks and suspension raise/lower functions. Actual functions will vary based on trailer options.

Landing Gear
The landing gear features a long-lasting, rust-resistant Armor-coated finish. Paint options available.

Frequently Asked Questions About Step Deck Trailers
Why do fleets choose aluminum step deck trailers?
Many fleets choose aluminum or combo aluminum-steel step deck trailers because the lighter trailer weight can help increase payload capacity and improve fuel efficiency over time.
Can step deck trailers haul oversized loads?
Yes. Step deck trailers are designed to transport taller and oversized freight that may exceed standard flatbed height limitations while remaining compliant with road regulations.
What should I look for when buying a step deck trailer?
Important considerations include payload capacity, trailer weight, deck height, axle configuration, frame construction, suspension type, durability, and the types of freight being hauled.
What is the difference between a step deck trailer and a flatbed trailer?
A step deck trailer features two deck levels, allowing taller freight to be hauled while staying within legal height limits. Flatbed trailers have a single deck height and are better suited for shorter cargo.
Why choose a gooseneck step deck trailer?
Gooseneck step deck trailers help improve weight distribution, stability, and maneuverability for heavy-haul applications. They are commonly used for transporting heavy equipment and oversized machinery.
How much weight can a step deck trailer haul?
Weight capacity varies based on trailer configuration, axle setup, and model specifications. Many commercial step deck trailers are designed to haul heavy-duty loads for construction, agriculture, and industrial applications.
